Seen But Not Heard: A Documentary by Cyrille Phipps

Last year while visiting New York City, I ended up out on a rainy night on the Lower East Side. I had just spent three weeks on the road with my bestie Tezeta, a proud member of the well-respected Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and must have soaked up some of her power source cause I seemed to be attracting a lot of other awesome Deltas in my life.

In fact, I was out that night with another friend and Delta soror, Niema Jordan, and while discussing the endless awesomeness of the Deltas, we were overheard by a woman named Cryille- who of course, is also a Delta. Wow! How fortunate am I to be a Delta magnet for a short stint??

After months of exchanging emails and keeping in touch, I’ve finally been able to reconnect with the amazing Cyrille Phipps as I moved to New York City, and found out that besides being a video editor for a major TV network, she also leads her own movement, the Urban Media Warrior. Through Urban Media Warrior, she is currently working on a documentary entitled Seen But Not Heard, a video project “seeking to challenge, inform, and inspire viewers to look past the daunting HIV/AIDS statistics – to see and hear the real stories of women of color whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS.”

Please take a moment to learn about her work on her website, Urban Media Warrior, and peep a short preview of the documentary here:
