G.P.S. Radar- Estelle

Coming home from Europe in the Spring of 2004, I was on a quest to keep my ears to the music I liked to listen to while studying abroad- I came across an English singer/rapper named Estelle, a sweet voiced chanteuse while browsing through Virgin Radio (the European version). As midterms and busy schedules later distracted me from my musical quest, Estelle faded away from my memory, replaced by more available American sensations like Amerie and well, you know, tastefully cute pop singers of the like.

It was quite a pleasant and unexpected reunion when I re-discovered Estelle again while partaking on my morning ritual of looking at Kanyeezie’s blog and one of my other favorite music blogs, Blind I Is for the Kids, getting treated to this infectious song! Watch the video and tell me you don’t think its one of the cutest videos ever- its like two fly ass people playfully flirting in the middle of a disco- plus, i’m always a fan of yeezie’s goofy swag. Btw- Estelle is one of the first artists to drop on John Legend’s label, Homeschool Records- hence, the cameo.

Btw- from my experience, British boys are quite the charmers- American boys, while i love your flashy ways, yall definitely have some rivalry. ;)

oh, and by the way, baby girl can rap too. in a british accent. cool.
Here’s a look at one of her older joints, 1980 (or, nineteen ayh–eeee, in british.)
